Walk in the Power You Already Have!

Many people spend their lives asking God for more strength, more help, more breakthrough, and more power. But what if the issue isn’t that you need more power? What if the real issue is that you haven’t fully recognized or used the power you already have?

The Bible makes it clear that believers are not meant to live powerless lives. Through Christ, we have been given authority, strength, and the ability to overcome what comes against us. The challenge is not access—it’s awareness and activation.

Power Isn’t Something You’re Waiting On.

In Acts of the Apostles 1:8, it says that believers receive power through the Holy Spirit. That means power is not something distant or reserved for a select few—it has already been given.

This power is not just for extraordinary moments. It’s meant for everyday life:

  • The battles you face internally

  • The situations that try to overwhelm you

  • The pressures that test your endurance

You are not facing those things empty-handed.

When Life Attacks After You’ve Made It Through

There are times when you come through something difficult—a stressful season, a personal setback, an emotional storm—and you expect relief. But instead, something else happens. Another challenge arises.

This can be discouraging, especially when it feels like you barely had time to recover.

A powerful example of this is found in **Acts of the Apostles 28. After surviving a violent storm and shipwreck, Paul finally reaches land. He is safe. The immediate danger is over.

And then, unexpectedly, he is bitten by a snake.

It’s a moment that reflects a reality many people experience: just when you think you can rest, something else tries to come against you.

The Response That Changes Everything

What stands out in this moment is not the attack—it’s the response.

Paul does not panic. He does not dwell on the situation. He does not allow fear to take over. Instead, he simply shakes the snake off and continues.

That response reveals something important: the presence of power.

Power is not always loud or dramatic. Sometimes it shows up in calm, confident action. It shows up in the ability to move forward without being controlled by what just happened.

Just because something affects you does not mean it has authority over you.

What You Hold Onto Matters

In life, not everything that attaches itself to you is meant to stay.

Fear, disappointment, negative experiences, and the opinions of others can all latch on in ways that feel overwhelming. But holding onto those things longer than necessary can weigh you down and limit your ability to move forward.

Letting go is not denial—it’s a decision.

It’s recognizing that you have the authority to release what is trying to drain you.

From Surviving to Releasing Power

The story doesn’t end with survival.

Shortly after the incident, Paul encounters a man who is seriously ill with fever and dysentery, an infection that causes severe intestinal distress and weakness. Instead of withdrawing after what he experienced, Paul steps forward.

He prays, lays hands on the man, and he is healed.

Then others come, and they are healed as well.

This moment reveals a shift: from surviving hardship to impacting others.

The same situation that could have caused hesitation instead became an opportunity for power to be expressed.

Power Is Meant to Be Used

Power that is never used has no visible effect.

It’s not enough to believe you have strength—you have to act from it. Walking in power looks like:

  • Moving forward even after setbacks

  • Refusing to let fear dictate your decisions

  • Choosing to release what no longer serves you

  • Taking action when it would be easier to hold back

It’s not about perfection. It’s about participation.

A Simple Truth to Hold Onto

You don’t need more power to face what’s in front of you.

You need to start using what’s already within you.

When you begin to recognize that, your perspective shifts. Challenges don’t disappear, but they lose their ability to control you. What once felt overwhelming becomes something you can face with clarity and confidence.

And what once looked like an ending can become an opportunity for something greater.

You are not powerless!

You are equipped!

Now it’s time to walk in it........
